At Kalamandir the Neotia Academy Nursing Training Institute proudly celebrated “MAITREE 2025” – its 13th Annual day ensemble programme and lamp lighting ceremony with all the students, their guardians, the staff along with distinguished guests of honour and reputed healthcare leaders. The event showcased Inaugural lamp lighting by Shri Pradeep Lal Mehta, Shri Parthiv Neotia, Shrimati Ruma Banerjee & Shrimati Sabina Yasmin, Welcome Speech by Shri P.L. Mehta, Academy Chronicles by Shrimati Sabina Yasmin, Principal, Neotia Academy Nursing Training Institute, Oath taking ceremony for First year students’ with nursing pledge and prayer in fond memory of Florence Nightingale, Graduation & prize distribution ceremony for the 2020-24 batch of B.Sc. (Nursing) students, Prize distribution ceremony for 2021 – 24 batch of GNM (Nursing) & Post-Graduation & prize distribution ceremony for the M.Sc (Nursing) 2022-24 batch of students followed by cultural performance by the students & faculty. Meritorious students are given prizes with certificates and medals. The event concluded with cultural performance by students and refreshments for all.

‘Maitree’ – symbolizes the passing of knowledge and igniting the souls of the budding nurses with the ideals of compassion and care. Every year Maitree is based on a well thought out theme which we call the OPUS OF MAITREE. This year’s opus “Roots of Healing” honoured the unseen foundation of nursing — the dedication that holds every act of healing together. Maitree - meaning spirit of camaraderie and friendship, is not just the title of the event, but the spirit that flows through every nurse. Friendship with life, with resilience, with duty. This opus is a dedication to that invisible yet unbreakable bond between nurses and the lives they touch.

In this year’s Opus, we journey back to the roots – the silent foundation beneath every act of care, every touch of comfort and every moment of resilience that defines a nurse. “Roots of Healing” is not just a story, but an emotion, a tribute and a deep dive into what makes nursing not just a profession, but a purpose.

The story winds through hospital corridors echoing with cries and whispers, where theory meets reality, and textbooks give way to trembling hands and teary eyes. It is here that roots begin to form, fed by experience, nurtured by empathy. Each life touched leaves a mark, each challenge overcome adds a layer of strength. With every recovery achieved and a tear wiped, a nurse deepens her roots.
